He Was Worried About Affording Medicare. Here’s How It Worked Out.

Earlier this year, one of my clients was worried about how he was going to afford his Medicare Part B premium when he turned 65. Since he wasn’t collecting Social Security, the premium would be billed directly to him, and it was a real concern.

Based on his situation, I believed he would qualify for a state program that could help pay that premium, as well as additional Medicare benefits once his eligibility was reviewed. While we waited for that decision, we made sure he had coverage in place and agreed that he’d bring me any updates as soon as he received them.

Last month, he came back with the letter we’d been waiting for. It confirmed his eligibility, allowing us to move him into a plan with additional benefits that better fit his needs, effective August 1.

Today, we spent time on the phone together with the insurance company to verify one of his qualifying health conditions so he can receive every benefit he’s entitled to.

What made this a “feel good” moment wasn’t just helping him save money or improve his coverage. It was that he trusted me through every step of the process and knew I’d be there to help him navigate it from beginning to end.

That’s why I love what I do. Sometimes the biggest benefit I can provide is giving someone confidence that they don’t have to figure it all out alone.
