Almost every day we hear from seniors who have been moved from their well selected Advantage Plan to an inferior HMO or PPO by some scoundrel agent, often from another state, who fast talked them over the phone.
These other plans often don’t have their doctors or hospitals in network and/or exposure to huge out of pocket costs for hospital stays and outpatient surgeries.
Never change plans or give out your Medicare number over the phone! Don’t ever call a toll-free number you see advertised on TV! It never ends well for those who do.
These slime balls who conduct business like this know they will never see or talk to you again and intentionally don’t leave a direct phone number where they can be reached. Once you’re enrolled in another plan, they become ghosts!
How this kind of practice is allowed to continue, I just don’t understand.
But until there are more protections for consumers and repercussions for these criminals, you must protect yourself, your friends, and family!
