Your cost for a plan is the same whether you purchase it from a licensed agent at The Health Insurance Store, directly through a company, or directly through the Marketplace. Purchasing a plan through the Marketplace on your own in our opinion is a very bad idea. The representatives are not licensed, not well trained in the ins and outs of health insurance, and not familiar with our local Highmark and UPMC dynamics.
We also take pride in providing great customer service. And since The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was implemented in January of 2014, the number of issues people are having with billing, claims, and prescriptions has increased dramatically. We have a dedicated staff to assist you with any difficulties and solve any problem you may encounter.
Who must get health insurance?
All US citizens must purchase a qualified health insurance policy if they are not currently insured by their employer or a government program like Medicare, Medicaid, or Veterans Administration.
If you do not purchase a plan by January 31, 2017, you will face an IRS penalty for failure to do so.
Health insurance companies can no longer deny you for coverage or claims due to pre-existing conditions. The Federal Government will provide subsidies to help pay premiums and possibly co-pays, deductibles, and other out of pocket expenses. The majority of people in Western PA will qualify for the extra help.
If you qualify, we can help you get federal subsidies to help cover health insurance costs. These subsidies can help pay health insurance premiums and possibly co-pays, deductibles, and other out of pocket expenses.
